LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Longtime furniture industry sales representative Frederick “Fred” Paul Jacobs died Oct. 21 at the age of 79.
Jacobs was born April 3, 1942, to Max and Beatrice Jacobs. He graduated from Louisville Country Day School in 1960 and the University of Louisville as Class of 1965. He also attended Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jacobs’ career as a furniture salesman began in 1969 at Craftmaster Furniture. Upon his retirement in 2017, he held the distinguished honor of the longest sales career in the industry. After retiring from his work with Craftmaster, Jacobs continued as a part-time salesman for Schmitt Furniture until 2020.
Jacbos was a member of The Temple, where he taught Sunday school and served on the board of trustees.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece. Jacobs is survived by three daughters, three grandchildren, ex-wife and best friend, three great-grandchildren and niece.
