HONG KONG — Timothy Oulton, CEO of Halo and founder and CEO of Timothy Oulton, died March 3.

Oulton got his start in 1976 in a small antiques shop owned by his father. In 1990, he took the helm at Halo and began focusing on reinventing antiques for the wholesale market.

In 2008, he opened his first gallery under the Timothy Oulton retail brand in Los Angeles. Stores soon followed in New York, Hong Kong and London.

“Tim’s legacy of creativity, excellence and authenticity will endure. These principles – and an ongoing commitment to the company’s growth agenda – will guide our leadership team as we move forward and drive continued success for the business,” according to a statement from the company.

Today the company has more than 70 retail locations and distribution in more than 60 countries, five global manufacturing hubs, and more than 350 team members across a dozen countries.

“This is an incredibly sad time for the entire Halo community, and my heart is with the family as we mourn this loss. In the weeks and months ahead, I am fully committed to honoring Tim’s legacy in the way I know best – by supporting our teams, executing against Tim’s ambition for the business and driving innovative, sustainable growth for our future,” said James Dilley, interim CEO of Halo.
