WOODMERE, N.Y. — Norman Alan Lampert, founder of Raynor Group Companies, died on April 6. He was 79.

Born March 2, 1944, Lampert founded the manufacturing, marketing and distribution company in 1979 as a local rep firm in the New York metropolitan area. He later teamed up with the Lacasse brothers and brought the brand into the U.S. market. In 2000, Lampert created the Eurotech brand of seating. He continued as its chairman of the board for the company until his passing.

“Norman had a special trait of befriending anyone he met,” wrote Eric Gellman, vice president of sales for the company. “He endeared himself to all who had the great fortune to both meet and know him. We miss him greatly already.”

Lampert is survived by his wife, Joan; three children; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
