
LOS ANGELES — Owen Leslie Baker, a longtime sales rep for Nourison Home, passed away on Aug. 24, at the age of 92.
Baker was a 52-year veteran of the industry, dedicating much of his life to the advancement and success of the flooring sector. He retired from Nourison Home five years ago after a career that spanned decades, including Oriental Weavers, Coronet Carpets, Monticello Carpets, Lee’s Carpet and Burlington Inds.
He was known for his work ethic, expertise and sense of humor. He built lasting relationships with both co-workers and customers. His contributions to the company were immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working with him.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Owen,” said Alex Peykar, chairman and co-founder of Nourison Home. “His dedication and passion for the industry were unmatched. He was not only a mentor to many but also a dear friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Peykar said that during his 16 years at Nourison Home, Baker played a pivotal role as Western Regional Sales Manager and helped shape the company’s growth and success. His expertise, leadership, and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he worked with.
