Veteran manufacturer, sales rep Jerry Cohn dies at 97

SEATTLE — Long-time industry sales representative Gerald (Jerry) Clifford Cohn died Nov. 18 at the age of 97.

Cohn was born Mary 29, 1927, in Seattle, where he graduated from Garfield High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served at Pearly Harbor during World War II. He went on to attend the University of Washington before returning to service during the Korean War.

After returning home, he and a partner started a furniture manufacturing company in Tacoma, Wash., called BC Products. Cohn went on to spend the next 50 years representing manufacturers of fine furnishings and interior design merchandise in the Pacific Northwest region. He also maintained showrooms for many years at the Northwest Home Furnishings Mart and the Seattle Design Center.

Cohn is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Harry Cohn, his sister and his twin brother. He is survived by his wife, Diane, three children, four stepchildren, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family asks that any remembrances be directed to the Rotary International Foundation or the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
