VENETA, Ore. — Longtime industry veteran Lambert Escobosa passed away on Nov. 4 at the age of 96.

After surviving the battles of Iwo Jima and Saipan in World War II as a U.S. Marine, Escobosa began his furniture career as an upholster at Kroehler Furniture Manufacturing Co. in Inglewood, Calif. He went on to build his own furniture manufacturing plant in San Diego, followed by multiple retail furniture stores throughout southern California until he moved to Oregon in 2002.

The family said Escobosa was a devoted husband to Deborah of 45 years, an incredible father and will be missed deeply by the family and friends.
